One member of our household has become very committed to the Apple computer brand. It's not just the ease with which Apple computers work, it's the fact that everything they produce is chic, sleak and shiny.

I've just been to a relaunch of Feliway and Adaptil by CEVA at BSAVA Congress. What's new is that the adapters have gone chic and now look like something you'd expect to adorn the modern home.

Great for the consumer, good for the cats that benefit from less anxiety, and a couple of things you need to know if the consumers are buying the product from you. It's not just the appearance that's gone cool, the product has been designed to work at lower temperatures. That means that if you put the new product in the old dispenser it will probably still work but it will bubble away in no time. The benefit apparently is that's there's less chance of an unpleasant smell from e.g. burning dust so if you've got cat or dog owners who were put off by that they may be worth another try.

I was reading Andrew Gardiner's recently updated 'A-Z of cat health and first aid a practical guide for owners' recently and noted that he has documented some of the signs of anxiety in cats that those of us who own them or work with them probably notice subconsciously. Probably if it were possible for us to see or hear more cats in their own homes we would notice that many are anxious. Maybe a few more could do with a sniff of pheromone.

Anyway, it's gone cool so watch out for those new dispensers.
