The British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) welcomes its new President for 2026-27, Steph Worsley RVN.
Taking place during BVNA Congress 2026 on Saturday 10th October, Steph was elected during the BVNA Annual General Meeting (AGM), where she introduced her presidential theme of ‘Unity’.
As BVNA continues to campaign heavily for a reformed Veterinary Surgeons Act, and as measures come into effct for veterinary businesses following the Competition and Markets Authority investigation into the sector, Steph called on the veterinary professions to unite to navigate this period of significant change.
Steph’s career in veterinary nursing to date has spanned 28 years – with 18 of these years spent volunteering for BVNA in a variety of roles. She has worked in a number of different settings, including mixed and small animal practice, plus a university teaching hospital. Today, she is Head Veterinary Nurse at a two-branch small animal practice which also provides charity services for the local community.
During her first address as BVNA President, Steph called for the existing role and significant untapped potential of the veterinary nursing profession to be recognised, understood and value
Sarah Holliday RVN takes up the role of BVNA Senior Vice President, while Macauly Gatenby RVN was elected into the role of Junior Vice President.
