30 July marks International Friendship Day, and staff at Dogs Trust Merseyside are hoping it will bring a little extra luck to two very special four-legged friends.

Inseparable greyhound duo Flint and Anna are searching for a forever friend of the two-legged kind. Despite hundreds of dog lovers visiting the rehoming centre, nobody has yet offered this lovable pair the hand of friendship.

The ex-racers have never experienced life in a home and have been patiently waiting since April for a family to call their own. Over the past four months, their bond has only grown stronger. They can often be found curled up together, happiest in each other's company, with Anna taking much of her confidence from her best pal, Flint.

Flint and Anna are always ready to make new friends and could happily live with other leggy dogs and older children.

Three-year-old Flint has alopecia, so he's looking forward to showing off a stylish collection of cosy jumpers when the colder weather arrives. Meanwhile, four-year-old Anna, has unusually thick fur for a greyhound, making her wonderfully soft and extra cuddly.

Both dogs are calm, affectionate and easy-going, and are more than ready to swap kennel life for cosy sofas, gentle walks and a family to call their own. With Flint and Anna by your side, you'll have twice the companionship and double the wagging tails.

So, if you've got room in your home (and your heart) for two lifelong best friends, Flint and Anna would love to meet you.

Georgina Lowery, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside, said:

"International Friendship Day reminds us just how special companionship can be, and Flint and Anna are the perfect example of that. They're calm, gentle, affectionate dogs who absolutely adore each other and are always happiest side by side.

We'd love nothing more than to see them find a family who can offer them the chance to experience home life together for the very first time ."
