SPVS has been working closely with the BVA and other divisions on a joint response to the Competition and Markets Authority consultation on veterinary services for household pets in the UK and the proposed market investigation reference.

The joint response from the BVA can be found here: https://www.bva.co.uk/media/5714/joi...ence-final.pdf

SPVS continues to engage with its members, actively representing their views, listening to feedback from practices and encouraging transparency with clients as well as working hard to provide practical support for members.

SPVS’ CMA resources can be accessed here and include:

• Questions from Clients: – Eight common questions that we suspect your team will be asked by owners and model responses to share with veterinary teams

• Summary of the 5 key concerns raised by the CMA and details of how to talk practice staff about them, and possible actions
  • SPVS presentation to the CMA focusing on the drivers for fee increases
Work continues to provide additional support materials including access to a pre-recorded webinar, with experiential elements showing snippets of difficult client interactions, specifically relating to the issues raised by the CMA review, and how to tackle them.
