Six team members from Harrison Family Vets have enjoyed a CPD trip of a lifetime, after their names were randomly drawn out of a hat for the chance to attend this year’s VMX (Veterinary Meeting & Expo) in Orlando.

The six were joined on the five-day trip by Harrison Family Vets’ directors, Tim Harrison, Kristie Faulkner and James Harris.

VMX is held at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center and attracts almost 20,000 veterinary professionals from across the globe. During the event there are hundreds of education sessions and hands-on workshops hosted by the world’s most renowned animal healthcare experts. The event was also an opportunity for more than 700 exhibitors to showcase the newest technologies benefiting the veterinary industry.

The team’s five days of CPD were also interspersed with visits to Disneyworld, swimming with manatees and an alligator safari.

Sam Doe, head nurse at Harrison Family Vets in Reading said: “When my name was picked at random to go to Orlando, I couldn’t believe it. This was a trip of a lifetime. The scale of the conference was mind-blowing and the whole experience is one I will never forget!”

James Harris, group clinical director at Harrison Family Vets, said: “There is nothing else like this conference in the world, in terms of CPD and the quality of it. Plus, the fun activities gave us a chance to bond as a team and experience the magic of Orlando.”
