Last week PFMA announced the launch of its first series of Pet Food and Nutrition Training Webinars to be delivered 14 – 23 July 2020, online. The webinars are aimed for pet professionals and will include two core streams of Pet Nutrition (canine, feline, small mammals, pet birds and pet fish) and Pet Food Legislation & Manufacturing. See the full programme.

If you are a small animal vet, vet nurse, pet nutrition advisor or keeper at a re-homing centre, or work within pet food or premix manufacturing or retail, this online training course could be for you!

The introductory webinars are designed to help familiarise pet professionals with the fundamentals of animal nutrition and physiology, pet food claims and labelling rules and the different formats of pet food products. A number of industry scientists, independent consultants and vets are collaborating with PFMA to deliver the lectures. To see a list of our speakers and their biographies please visit this page.

PFMA’s teaching resources are evidence-based and non-branded, providing an impartial overview of the pet food industry and the science behind it. On completion of the training, participants should be able to take away key messages from each topic and able to identify a range of nutritional guidelines, factsheets and key pieces of legislation to use as future references. Certificate of attendance will be provided to participants by email on completion of the webinar series.

To help make these trainings accessible to a wider range of pet professionals, PFMA is offering a 20% discount to all those working within the veterinary profession, pet welfare, and rehoming charities, as well as a group booking discount. See all prices and discounts here.

Those interested can choose to register for the Full Webinar Series (five half-days of webinars) or only sign up to Pet Nutrition (two half-days) or Pet Food Legislation & Manufacturing(three half-days). To register please visit this page.
