Ceva Animal Health, manufacturer of Amodip, is hosting an informative one-day CPD course entitled ‘Have you got an eye for hypertension?’.

The meeting, which costs £10 per delegate including lunch and equates to six hours’ CPD, will take place in Reading on Tuesday 1 October. It is presented by leading veterinary ophthalmologist, Tim Knott BSc (Hons) BVSc CertVOphthal MRCVS, from Rowe Referrals and the Equine Eye Clinic.

The CPD course will provide practical hands-on ophthalmoscopy training and will teach delegates how to master the techniques of distant direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy. Eye models and an indirect lens will be provided for each delegate on the day to help develop their skills and practise examining retinas and detecting lesions. The indirect lens is then available to keep.

This practical workshop will enable attendees to return to practice competent at thorough retinal exams and confident in identifying common retinal anomalies. During the meeting, Tim will persuade delegates that their mobile phones should be used as part of every eye exam and not just as a useful light source for examining eyes! The course will also cover hypertensive ocular lesions in more detail and it will include a short lecture on the significance of eye lesions in feline hypertension.
