Hello all

For anyone interested in how the professional obligation to provide 24 hour cover impacts veterinary practice the last large piece of market research commissioned by the RCVS in 2008 (and conducted by Cognition)is provided as an attachment here with the kind permission of RCVS who are interested in your views.

I'm sure you'll want to read it for yourself but the thing that leapt out at me was question 50: 85% of respondents felt that in comparison with the obligations of other health care professionals more was asked of vets.

Q50. Do you feel that the obligation on you as a vet to make provision
for 24/7 emergency cover is in line with the obligations of other health care professionals,
such as GPs, or do you think more is asked of
you as a vet or more is asked of other health care professionals such as GPs?
Base: NOT We do not make provision for 24/7 cover
