Now, what if....??
UK Pet owners simply adore their pets. For those who understand this connection and deliver services that fan the feel-good flames of owner passion, there is a pleasurable and profitable business to be had!
For an example, you need look no further than Barkers, a new kind of doggy retail experience launching it's brand in the wealthy stockbroker and footballer belt of Cheshire. The proposition on their website is clear: To be the best shop for dogs. Ever.
So how are they planning to achieve this? Well, in the same way that every successful businesses has customers at its core, Barkers offer the discerning dog owner everything they could want and more....from canine couture, made-to-order beds, organic diets, medicines advice and administration, to luxury spa treatments specially for pooches; all elements professionally presented, with an appropriate high-end price tag to match. The Barkers team are even creating a community of campaigners committed to making Wimslow the most dog friendly town in the UK, thereby making their mark in the area and generating newsworthy PR opportunities to-boot!
So will Barkers' success be matched by their ambition? I certainly hope so as this level of innovation, creativity and most importantly, their tailoring of service to that which certain types of dogs owners want, deserves to do well; clever marketing starts and ends with understanding the needs of your target market, then delivering it. End of.
I'm regularly inspired by the quality and quantity of innovation in the pet market, such as that shown by the team at Barkers; mulling over such well-implemented concepts in the context of veterinary practice...and finding myself wondering.............."what if?"Tags: None
