The internet may be viewed as an opportunity or a threat to veterinary business - but like it or not, consumer behaviour is moving (very rapidly) in that direction. The internet is an ever-growing power to be reckoned with, so those who get their heads around how to make it work for them, deservedly earn respect from many of their peers.

It gave me great pleasure therefore, to hear that my friends at Village Vet Group (with practices based in North London and Cambridge) had won the Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA) Practice Marketing Award for their website; the award recognises initiative in marketing products and services to clients....which is what marketing communication is all about.

Their innovative website allows clients access to information about their pets healthcare and to watch common procedures. New clients can register from the site whilst existing clients can view their own records. With a Twitter campaign established and linked to their site, the entire practice offering is available for interested owners everywhere to view. Village Vet Group are harnessing the power of the internet, not running shy of it...and that has to be good for their practices, for pet owners at large whilst also making them good Ambassadors for the profession.

We can always learn from those who strive to stay ahead of the game and continually improve. If you want to see how one innovative practice has achieved excellence, click on the following link and view the board (attached) that won them the VMA Practice Marketing Award.

Each Village Vet practice is your local friendly vet managed community practice but also part of the larger Village Vet family offering a phenomenal level of veterinary care

Well done, Village Vet Group!
