Andrew Craig, an RCVS and European specialist in small animal surgery, has joined Linnaeus-owned North Downs Specialist Referrals (NDSR) in Bletchingley, Surrey.
NDSR now boasts four specialists in its orthopaedics team, including hospital director Terry Emmerson.
Terry said: “We’re all delighted to welcome Andrew to NDSR. He’ll be a valuable addition to the orthopaedics team.

Andrew added: “I have a keen interest in fractures; more specifically minimally invasive fracture repairs, and in total hip replacement and neurosurgery, in particular spinal stabilisation, spinal fractures and lumbosacral disease.
“I’m also currently working on four publications - Pan-carpal arthrodesis, stabilisation of spinal deformities in French bulldogs, the accuracy of patellar groove replacement and the techniques for treating medial patellar luxation and cruciate disease in small breed dogs.”
Andrew, who graduated from Liverpool in 2009, already has multiple publications including on elbow dysplasia, treatment of diaphyseal fractures in cats, accuracy of TPLOs, management of Y fractures in dogs, feline tibial fractures and repair of ilial fractures in cats and dogs.
He spent the first three years of his career working in mixed practice in the Midlands and Ireland, followed by three years in primary care.
Andrew then embarked on a one-year internship, followed by a three-year residency at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists and passed his ECVS exams in 2019.
Away from work he enjoys running, cycling, swimming, playing golf and watersports.
