Three new members elected on to bvna council
The 2021 BVNA Council elections saw three new full Council members and two new student council members added to the BVNA Council. Six candidates stood for full membership and the following members were elected: Albert Holgate Kim Rathbone Rebecca Winter Four valid nominations were received for Student member seats and the following members were elected: Jade Brindley Macauly Gatenby A representative of BVNA said: “The last 12 months has been very challenging for everyone, but we are pleased, that BVNA Council is going from strength to strength. We would like to thank all of the 210 members for taking the time to vote and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our newly elected council members and continue to build our reputation as the Voice of Veterinary Nursing” NOTES FOR EDITORS The BVNA Council comprises three student members and up to fifteen full council members Elections are held electronically amongst its members – elected members are formally ratified at the AGM The BVNA holds elections each year when seats become vacant on its Council The BVNA is the largest membership body of veterinary nurses in the UK with over 5,500 members. It is also the official representative body for Veterinary Nursing In addition to support for its Membership, key activities of the BVNA include an Annual Congress and a wide range of accredited CPD courses, including online seminars.
