ID:	53652 Earlswood Veterinary, in Belfast, are delighted to announce that a new Specialist has joined their team. Ross Doust (BVSc CSAS DipECVS MRCVS, EBVS European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery and RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery) is a very welcome addition. Ross brings with him an extensive international experience in Australia, USA and the UK. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1991 and after working in Australia for three years, he travelled to the UK and worked as a locum in mixed practices in Wales, Scotland and England. After completing a residency at Glasgow Veterinary School he was awarded the ECVS diploma in small animal surgery in 2004. Since then, his work has taken him all over the globe, including positions as staff surgeon at the Animal Health Trust, lecturer in soft tissue surgery at the University of Glasgow and the University of Melbourne, as well as working as a surgeon at Fifth Avenue Vet Specialists in Manhattan. He joined Cave Veterinary Specialists in Somerset in September 2011 where he led the surgery team until the end of 2020. He has a particular interest in surgical oncology. Earlswood Veterinary is pleased to have someone of Ross’ calibre joining their team full time. The referral hospital has already been privileged to offer a number of visiting Specialist services:  Cardiology with Stephen Collins (BVetMed, DVC, MRCVS, RCVS, Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology),  World class interventional surgery with Toby Wagner, DrMedVet Dip ECVIM-CA (Cardiology), MRCVS, European specialist in Veterinary Cardiology,  Orthopaedic surgery with Andrew Craig (BVSc, PGCert(SAS), DipECVS, MRCVS, RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, EBVS European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery),  Hip and stifle replacement by Harry Scott (BVSc, CertSAD, DSAS (ortho), DipECVN, FRCVS, RCVS Recognised Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, Veterinary Neurology, EBVS European Veterinary Specialist in Neurology). With Ross in Earlswood Veterinary’s corner, they will be able to add to their offering of Specialist-led services to referring vets, helping them continue to provide Gold Standard care to the animals and owners referred to them. Ross commented, “I am excited to be joining all the team at Earlswood veterinary to work alongside our referring vets to expand the specialist soft tissue surgery and oncology service. In addition to the clinical caseload I am looking forward to engaging with local vets by offering regular CPD evenings as well as drawing on my experience with ECVS to assist in the training of future specialists.”
