Now into its sixth year, Cx Congress 2020 takes place in Nottingham on the 12th and 13th of June. We’re delighted to announce that Professor Cindy Adams is delivering a whole day of evidence-based practical learning on Friday 12th June that will help every member of the practice team communicate more effectively in difficult situations, both with clients and colleagues. The ‘deep dive’ nature of the first day of Cx Congress is always a highlight, focusing on one key topic in great detail. And when it comes to communication in veterinary medicine, Professor Adams quite literally wrote the book - her co-authored seminal work, ‘Skills for Communicating in Veterinary Medicine’ was released in 2016.

Friday’s four complementary sessions with Professor Adams build into an in-depth exploration of communicating in difficult situations – something every member of the practice team is called upon to do every day:
  • The building blocks of communication
  • Overcoming communication difficulties within teams
  • What we should be saying, but aren’t
  • When we say things the owner doesn’t want to act on

As a Professor in the University of Calgary’s Department of Veterinary Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, Professor Adams teaches in all three years of the Clinical Communication Program/Professional Skills at UCVM, working to improve communication practices in veterinary medicine and education. She has developed evidence-based communication curricula and methods for teaching, learning and evaluating communication skills across North America, UK and Australia and her presence at Cx Congress guarantees delegates that it will be an unparalleled CPD experience.

Following Professor Adams, the Saturday agenda splits into four streams, with leading experts in their fields delivering a wide range of content across key topics, allowing a ‘pick and mix’ approach for delegates to choose their preferred sessions:
  • Front desk
  • Consulting
  • Leading
  • SQP / Farm

A ticket for Friday’s full-day programme with Professor Adams costs just £139 +VAT, or £259 +VAT to attend both days (offer ends 31/03/2020). More details and booking information can be found at www.onswitch.co.uk/cx-congress-2020 Hotel rooms at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre can be booked at delegate rates for those attending both days.
