Ceva Animal Health, manufacturer of the leading behaviour products ADAPTIL„¥ and FELIWAY„¥, has appointed its first ever Student Behaviour Reps at BSAVA Congress.

The initiative saw Ceva support vet students from Bristol, Nottingham, Dublin and Surrey universities by sponsoring their attendance at the British Veterinary Behaviour Association¡¦s (BVBA) Study Day in the run up to BSAVA Congress, which included dinner with leading veterinary behaviourists. The students also attended the Ceva Animal Welfare Awards, so that they could see first-hand the achievements of remarkable people from the farming, veterinary and charity sector, who go beyond the call of duty to better the lives of animals around the world.

¡§Our new student behaviour initiative aims to provide additional opportunities for those with an interest in animal behaviour to learn more about this important, and sometimes complex, area of veterinary medicine. I am looking forward to working with our Reps in order to provide extracurricular training sessions and my aim, over the coming years, is to have all nine universities represented,¡¨ comments Andy Fullerton, BVSc (Hons) MRCVS, technical manager (Behaviour) at Ceva Animal Health.

¡§This was such a brilliant opportunity, not only to meet veterinary behaviourists but to learn so much more about animal behaviour. I am so grateful to Ceva for sponsoring the trip and look forward to working with the Ceva team to provide some extra animal behaviour training for my peers,¡¨ comments Jasmine Godfrey-Hunt, fourth year veterinary student at Nottingham University.

Christina Maunder (Year 5 lead) and Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow at the University of Bristol Vet School, said: ¡§We are grateful to Ceva Animal Health for funding a place at the BVBA Day at BSAVA Congress. The day provided a wonderful opportunity for one of our undergraduate veterinary students to attend and further their understanding of animal behaviour from leading experts in the field. Other vet school students will also benefit from shared knowledge thanks to a Ceva student ambassador and a Clinical Club education evening at Bristol.¡¨
