The Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA) flagship Annual Awards take place on 15th March 2019 at the 5-star Royal Lancaster London hotel. As the premier veterinary marketing event of the year, the Awards provide a great opportunity for marketing professionals to showcase their skill and professionalism in marketing their products and services, says VMA Awards chair, Claire Edmunds.

“There are 18 awards spanning all aspects of veterinary marketing, including the Young Marketer of the Year, the Practice Marketing Award and the Advertising Campaign Award,” she explains.

The Advertising Campaign Award, kindly sponsored by Veterinary Record and In Practice, is for companies that have delivered a campaign or series of advertisements in the UK during 2018 that can be fully appreciated when viewed as a whole.
Entries for this award should have also appeared in one or more of the following categories: Veterinary Media Advertising Award, Companion Animal/Equine Consumer Media Advertising Award or Farm Media Advertising Award.
“All 2018 campaign entries will be judged under our exciting new process, which includes:
    • A new first round of remote judging, enabling a greater number and wider demographic of judges; followed by a second phase of face to face judging as usual.
    • New judging criteria, including SMART objectives and results against these.
    • Transparent judging expectations, with entry and judging criteria clearly explained on the website together with top tips and a visual template for what a terrific entry could look like.”
“Entries for the awards are now open. The online entry process is very easy to use, however please note that to accommodate the judging process changes, all entries apart from the Young Marketer of the Year close earlier than previously, on 31st December 2018. So, don’t delay, start planning your entries today!” concludes Claire.

      Kristina Kisbee

The emergence of exotic diseases such as Ebola and SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) in people has prompted intensive research into new drug treatments, and this is indirectly bringing benefit to cats. The infectious agent is a mutant coronavirus (FIPV) that is notoriously difficult to control: the parent enteric coronavirus is present in virtually all catteries and shelters and is shed...
