The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) has appointed a new Head of Policy and Scientific Communication.

Adrienne Conroy MVB MRCVS brings a wealth of experience from working in practice, industry, government and the charity sector. Her roles have covered a diversity of areas at UK , European and international level - from evidence-based strategy, policy and operations through to communications, PR and both reputation and crises management.

Adrienne has been involved in various activities across the veterinary profession for both BVA and RCVS. These have encompassed participation in working groups, representation on BVA Council and membership of small and large animal associations, including those relating to public health and government. She has also been past President of the Association of Government Vets ( AGV ).

She said: “I’m delighted to join BSAVA, a well-respected organisation which plays a vital role in providing support and guidance across the small animal veterinary profession. As part of an ever-changing and evolving profession I anticipate there will be challenges ahead in many of the areas of interest to the membership. I look forward to working with BSAVA staff and its members to ensure that BSAVA continues to maintain its strong and trusted voice.”

BSAVA President John Chitty said: “Adrienne not only brings knowledge of the sector but also excellent experience of the broader veterinary landscape within which BSAVA operates. This will bolster the existing and invaluable expertise within our association and continue to add value to the wider work of BVA.”
